About Attack from Mars
The Attack from Mars theme is great. The martians are ridiculous, scary green men with flying saucers attacking landmarks around the world. Every country that is attacked has silly national stereotypes, like the Italian "Mamma Mia. The martians are straightening the Leaning Tower of Pizza," or the gung-ho Marine jock types trying to save the Statue of Liberty. The martian attack mode with the little rubber martians vibrating in the playfield, jiggling their arms, adds to the humor of the game.
The playfield is cool and simple. There are a couple simple ramps, but the focal point is the central target of the flying saucer. It's an easy shot that can be made from either flipper, which makes it a really fun game for casual players and beginners while the mission mode keeps it interesting for more advanced players.
Some of the shots can drain pretty easily, but it's pretty generous with ball saves, so it balances out well. The ball just keeps moving, which is nice.
This is a very fun game. The depth is in mission completion, not complexity of the shots.
